Capital E Arts Festival

Friday's trip to Capital E was awesome. We saw three wonderful live shows, all very different but equally interactive and interesting. We are so grateful to the Capital E Trust for subsidising our trip to these shows. Check out Linsey Pollacks instruments for yourself at http://linseypollak.com/wordpress/?page_id=346. Amazing!

Problem Solving

Mr Dalziel, our visiting student teacher has been setting us some interesting problem solving challenges. He is encouraging us to keep trying, even when we feel frustrated. Turn the problem around and try it from a different angle. At the moment we are trying to work out what his Granny likes. We know she likes Wellington but not Christchurch. She likes knitting but not sewing and she doubly likes coffee but not tea. I wonder if you can figure out the rule?

Kindy Visit.

Today the whole class went on a visit to Koraunui Kindergarten. We read stories to the children and then we played with them. It was FUN!!!!

Cartoons

As part of our listening and viewing skills we have been following instructions on how to draw cartoons. This is lots of fun and we are improving our drawing skills at the same time. Here are our cartoon horses.

Swimming lessons

Our two weeks of swimming lessons is coming to an end. The children's confidence has rocketed ahead and their skills are improving daily. These will be on display at our swimming sports later in the term. We are getting to know our new buddies and on Thursday we will have a shared lunch at Speldhurst Park. If every child brings $1.00 we will get a packet of hot chips for them to share with their buddy.
