PA060554

Pasifika were one of the performance groups.  Awesome job guys.

Our buddy class performs at the fan zone

Our Year 1 to 3 children (5-7 year olds) from our whanau classes including our buddy class room 9 were outstanding in their performance.

Rugby World Cup Fan zone trip

PA050502PA050503

Last term we were lucky enough to be invited to perform at the fan zone in Wellington.  Even those senior students who were not performing went in as a support crew.  We took the train from Pomare and then had a walk around central Wellington exploring the wonderful sculptures before we met the performers at the fan zone.

First stop was the Ghandi statue at Wellington Rail Station.  Next we walked up Molesworth Street to Old Saint Pauls.  Everyone loved going into this special church.

We were on time for the Old Bank Arcade clock.  Most of us did not even know what it was.  Lucky that Mrs J was with us.

Then it was on through the rain to the fan zone.  More on that, tomorrow.

Whakatauki

Tohua nga whatatipuranga ki te inu I te puna o te matauranga.
Kia hora ai te whakaruuru hau o te ora, ki ranga ki te iwi.
Kia kaha, kia toa, kia manawanui.

Show the young how to drink from the spring of knowledge
So the sheltering mantle of well-being may spread over the nation
Be strong, be courageous, be resolute.

What a beautiful whakatauki from One Tree Point School.  Came across it while I was doing my te reo mahi kainga (homework)

One week left of the holidays and I am heading down South to Golden Bay for a few days with Bruce and Riley.  See you all on Tuesday.  Bring your smiles and your happy faces and we will have a fantastic last eight weeks of school.

GO THE ALL BLACKS!!!!

Choice Theory Chart

We have been doing some role plays in class based on the choice theory car and using the brain chart to help us.  Ben and Ike have completed copying the chart into their topic books.

Longball

We have been learning to play longball.  Room 14 and Room 13 have been our opponents.  It has been great fun and we are enjoying the friendly competition.
